Dr. Linda J. Jacobs is the founder and Executive Director of The Harbour School at Annapolis and Baltimore County. Founded in 1982 on the belief that every child can learn, she and her staff set about the task of proving that belief true. Over and over again, Harbour graduates are performing at levels far exceeding their peers.

Prior to founding The Harbour School, Dr. Jacobs served as the Assistant State Superintendent of Maryland Schools after a successful term as the Director of Special Education Programs at Anne Arundel County Public Schools. She is a former member of the faculty of the University of Maryland and has since served as an adjunct faculty member at Johns Hopkins, Towson University and Notre Dame. Five times Maryland Governors have appointed her to state commissions and Dr. Jacobs has presented at more than 45 national conferences and internationally in Australia and Hong Kong.

Not being one to rest on her laurels, Dr. Jacobs launched The Harbour Way: Innovative Learning in the summer of 2007 to bring the philosophy, methods and expertise developed at The Harbour School to the broader community of parents of children who are challenged learners and the teachers and related professionals who serve them.

The Harbour Way brings her incredible wealth of experience and a passion for children together with the endless creativity of the Harbour Way staff. Dr. Jacobs' energy is infectious, her methods straightforward and her history of success: unrivaled.
